A couple of days ago, I had the chance to go back to my university when I attended my younger brother’s college graduation. Being around my once familiar campus was very nostalgic, even if I didn’t have the chance to go around the places I used to frequent. As an older sister, I can’t help but be proud for my younger brother, who has achieved so much in the last four years. What makes this graduation even more unnerving, is that it has been four years since my own graduation. Four years ago, when I left these hallowed halls, my brother took his place as a student at this university. And now, four years later, he has finished his degree.
So much has happened in the last four years, and the thing that feels the most odd, is that it doesn’t even feel like four years have passed.
Most likely, the next four years will pass by in a blur….I wonder what will happen four years from now.
White embossed-detailed top from Kashieca; Asian-print skirt from Kashieca; Simple black pumps; Quilted bowling bag from Mango
In other news, during a reunion with friends at Shangri-la Plaza last month, I was able to take an hour to go around the area to shop and I found myself at Kashieca looking for some things that were more my age, in other words, seemingly more mature. Two of the things that caught my eye were this top and bottom. I’ve been on a quest to look slimmer while I’ve yet to lose some weight, and look taller too of course. And seeing as I have an Asian figure, I attempted to copy some recent methods to elongate my legs by tucking the top into the skirt. I really like this outfit combination, which I had tried out together when I was making this purchase.
The thing I love most about this top is the details. It looks embossed. Though the details are seemingly minute, they add just a tinge of class to that perfectly white ensemble top. And the best part is that it’s a practical top, practical in the sense that it’s one – comfy, and two – is not made of a thin fabric. I just had to mention that it’s comfy, because my guy cousin saw my top and asked me if it was comfy and if it was itchy on the inside, which it isn’t. And I love that the fabric is of a good quality, you don’t have to worry about wearing something too thin or see-through.
There was another color for this top that was available at the store – cream, but it blended too much with my skin color when I tried it on, so I didn’t buy it.
I also really liked this skirt, also from Kashieca, because it’s not too showy and the design is very Asian. Initially, I had wanted to get a skirt with an inverted color scheme – blue details on a white skirt, but when I tried it on…..I looked like a curtain. It was a good thing I went for this color instead, as it’s easier to pair it up with other outfits.
My original hairstyle had my hair down, but it was just messy and looking at it now, it was a good thing I decided to have my hair tied up. Some people said my face isn’t as round as before, which is probably due to my eating a little less nowadays drinking more water, and avoiding cakes and ice creams.
Seeing as I liked a couple of Kashieca’s clothing choices, I hope I can go back to buy a few more of their things in the next few months or so…I used to buy a lot of my clothes from Bayo because I really liked their style, but I’ve recently not liked too much of the collections they’ve put out.
Here’s to making smarter, classier, and more practical clothing purchases.
Down the hill I go again.
