If there’s one thing I’ve been absolutely obsessed with lately, it’s the whole Naruto franchise. Ever since the manga ended a few months ago, followed by the extra chapters that talk about the children of the manga’s current characters, I’ve been rampaging through the internet for more information, extra chapters, fanfiction, photos, and the like, just to satisfy this insatiable interest.
Funny thing is that when my sister first became interested in the series – even cosplaying as Hinata – Naruto was not something I was very much interested in. At the time that she first gleamed interest in it, I was more interested in other manga genres; but over the last few years, for some reason, I started becoming interested in Naruto. In fact, when I decided to catch up to the manga, it took me about 2 days to finish something like 300-400 chapters. I could not stop reading once I was heavily invested in it.
Now with the manga all done, I’m going back to the roots and watching the anime series. I’ve seen a few episodes of the anime series before, but never a lot, and never in order. So now that my time with the manga is seemingly done (though honestly I keep returning to it just to admire the earlier works and use it as reference for the episodes I’m watching), it’s time to move forward to the whole anime hullabaloo and seeing how the anime lives up to the manga.
Of course, one great thing about the anime is getting to see how it displays all those shinobi moves – the handsigns, the jutsu effects, in real time. Not to mention the amazing soundtrack that comes along with it.
This is definitely going to be one heck of a ride as the original Naruto series has 220 episodes, and Naruto Shippuden has something like 275 episodes. Not to mention the OVA’s to each. That’s going to be a lot of action-pumped ninja-centered hours!
This is going to be LEGENDattebayo!
