Despite having a 1030am class later, I’m up watching (fyi, it’s 3am) MJ’s Memorial. So far, I laughed at Magic Johnson’s speech about his encounter with MJ in regard to Kentucky Fried Chicken. Magic really brought a laugh out of me when he saw Michael eating KFC, “Michael, you eat Kentucky Fried Chicken?!”. Very funny. So far though, the most touching speech so far was from Brooke Shields, which really made me cry. Her touching story of her close relationship with MJ, and their friendship and what they’ve gone through, touched me. If something happened to my best friend and close friends, I would not know what to do with myelf. Brooke Shield carried herself very well. It did not help though that the next song also made me cry..
Smile by Nat King Cole
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though its breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, youll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile, whats the use of crying?
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
Watching the memorial is really heart-breaking. I’m not a really big Michael Jackson fan, just a normal fan who appreciates his music and his dancing, but MJ and his talents touched me. Everything is just, so sentimental.
Oh, Usher is crying. 🙁
Michael Jackson, King of Pop. We all miss you.
