Philippine Postcards
Today, I passed by Fully Booked while I was out, and saw these lovely Philippine postcards for sale. At Php25 a piece, they’re a bit costly and you definitely can’t buy too many unless you’re really willing to invest in getting them. So far, these are the nicer Philippine postcards I’ve seen, as I went to National Bookstore’s postcards section and found that their postcard images aren’t too nice and aren’t of any good image quality. Of course, the National Bookstore postcards are way cheaper than the Fully Booked ones, which cost about Php5-Php10 (please correct me if I’m wrong as I can’t recall the actual price). Variety-wise though, National Bookstore has more variety as they have postcards of Philippine presidents and Philippine festivals, and they have a lot of Philippine tourist destination cards.
Variety-wise and price-wise, National Bookstore.
Image quality-wise, Fully Booked.
Of course if you have a pen-pal or are into sites like postcrossing, a lot of people like sending quality postcards and receiving quality postcards as well. And so if you’ll advertise the Philippines through the postcard you’re sending, getting a postcard with nice image quality is very important.
I’m looking forward to going to other places to look for more postcards, as I’m sure there’s more than just Fully Booked and National Bookstore. A lot of the current postcards I have that I send through postcrossing are the ones I purchased back when I was living in Xiamen, and some when I was living in Beijing. As for Philippine postcards, I don’t have a lot, but I want to slowly invest in these.
If you have any recommendations for stores or places where I can get quality Philippine postcards, I’d love to hear where I can get some of these. And please provide as much details as you can (cost of postcard, are there discounts if I get a pack or so, branch, etc). Please and thank you!
P.S. Apologies for above image quality, it’s not so good.
